This policy covers launchfulcrum.com, the software Fulcrum builds and runs for its business clients (including pages at addresses like client-name.launchfulcrum.com), and the accounts a business connects to that software, such as Thumbtack.
Fulcrum does two separate things, and the rules are different for each.
| If you are… | Then… |
|---|---|
| A customer of a business that uses Fulcrum. You got a quote, a proposal, an invoice, a text, an email or a reply to your Thumbtack request from a company, and it came through software we run for them. | That business decides what happens to your information. We hold and process it on their behalf and on their instructions. We do not decide what it is used for. See section 02. |
| A visitor to launchfulcrum.com, or someone who contacts us about working together. | We decide what happens to that information, and this policy governs it directly. See section 03. |
Some companies use Fulcrum to run their sales: to keep track of requests, write quotes, send proposals and issue invoices. If you asked one of those companies for a price, your details may sit in a system we run for them.
Usually from you: a form, a message, a call, or a request you sent on a marketplace such as Thumbtack, which passed it to that business.
We are not the company you contacted. We are the software they use. If you want your information corrected or deleted, want to know what they hold, or want them to stop contacting you, ask them directly. They are the ones who decide, and they can act immediately. If you cannot reach them, write to us at the address in section 13 and we will pass your request on and tell you who they are.
If you fill in a contact form on launchfulcrum.com, we collect what you type: typically your name, email address, business name, and whatever you tell us. We use it to reply to you and to decide whether we can help. That is the whole purpose.
If you work for a client and sign in to software we run, we hold the email address you sign in with and a record of your sessions, so the sign-in works and stays secure.
We are a small company and we run on other companies' infrastructure. We use service providers in these categories, each limited to working for us:
When a business connects a marketplace such as Thumbtack, information also moves between us and that marketplace, on the business's instructions (section 05). The marketplace's own privacy policy covers what it does with messages on its platform.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or if our business changes hands, in which case the same commitments follow the information.
A business can connect its own Thumbtack account to the software we run for it. The business does this itself, on Thumbtack's own sign-in page, and can disconnect at any time from its Thumbtack settings or by asking us. We never see or store the business's Thumbtack password.
How fast we delete it: if the business disconnects Thumbtack or stops using the connection, or if Thumbtack asks us to, we delete the data we received through that connection within 5 business days.
Our software can draft replies for a business's staff, such as a suggested text message or email written from the details of a request. To do that, those details are sent to an AI provider.
Fulcrum has not sold or shared personal information in the preceding 12 months, and does not do so now. "Share" here has its legal meaning under California law (disclosing information for cross-context behavioral advertising), and we do not do that either, with or without payment.
We have not disclosed personal information to anyone other than the service providers described in section 04, who may not use it for their own purposes, and the accounts a business chose to connect (section 05).
Because we do not sell or share, there is no "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link on this site. There is nothing for it to switch off.
Where a business uses our software to send text messages, it sends them under its own business name and its own messaging account, and it is responsible for having your permission.
No mobile information, text-message opt-in data, or consent will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes at any time. Any other sharing described in this policy expressly excludes text-message opt-in data and consent.
You can stop messages at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by telling the sender in any other reasonable way. Reply HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply.
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal, and there is still no common standard for what a site must do with it. We do not respond to Do Not Track signals, because we do not track you across websites in the first place.
We do not allow any third party to collect personal information about your activity across other websites through our pages. The only outside requests our pages make are to the service providers in section 04, which are there to make the page work, not to follow you.
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| Information we hold for a business | For as long as that business instructs us, and until its agreement with us ends. When it ends, we delete it or return it, at the business's choice. |
| Information received from a connected account such as Thumbtack | While the business keeps the connection on. Deleted within 5 business days after it disconnects or stops using it, or when the marketplace asks. |
| Requests sent to us through our own site | While we are in contact, and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records |
| Sign-in and security records | As long as the account is active, and a short period after, to investigate problems |
| Anything the law requires us to keep | For the period the law sets |
Whatever state you live in, you can ask us to:
Write to the address in section 13. We will not charge you, and we will not treat you differently for asking. If your request is about information we hold for a business, we will pass it to that business and tell you who they are, because it is their decision (section 02). We will not make you create an account to ask.
The data sits in access-controlled databases, each business separated from every other, reached over encrypted connections, with sign-in restricted to people the business names. Access to a connected account such as Thumbtack is held as an encrypted access token, never as a password, and the business can revoke it at any time. Payment card numbers never reach us.
What we will not claim: no system is perfectly secure, and we are not going to tell you otherwise. If a breach affects your information, we will tell the business whose information it is without delay, and they will notify you as the law requires. If it affects data received from a connected marketplace, we will also tell that marketplace immediately.
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and post the new version here before it takes effect. Where we hold your information for a business, we will tell that business.
